  • a mental image of what the future will or could be like.

What is your vision?

I love hearing the goals and dreams people have for their future. It’s a lot more fun to discuss than numbers on paper. And it’s so vital to plan ahead for. Financial freedom, retirement, college, a new car.. these things don’t just happen on their own. They are planned events.

I believe in your vision and my mission is to help take turn your vision into reality.

“Vision without execution is hallucination.”

Thomas Edison

For success to occur, execution must happen. Your vision won’t manifest itself.

That’s where I come in.

It can be difficult to even know where to start planning for your financial future. There are so many aspects to consider. So many options to choose from. And then, it’s still on you to impose the self-discipline necessary to make things happen. That’s where having a partner with the expertise to help turn your vision into reality can make the difference.

Below I’ve outlined the typical people I work with. If you feel it describes you, I would love for you to contact me. I’d love to hear your story.

This isn’t some sort of high pressure sales call. This is a chance to see if we mesh well together. Wonder what the first meeting is like? Here it is.

“Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.”

Albert Einstein

Here’s a look at some typical clients I work with

  • Clients have a vision of their future they are excited about.
  • Clients value having a plan of action to accomplish their goals.
  • Clients consider themselves “conservative” and live within their means.
  • Clients are not calling with the “next big thing” stock.
  • Clients realize that money is a means to an end. They value family, community and contribution.

My Approach

I am a fee based financial professional and proudly act as a fiduciary for my clients. This means I have a legal obligation to put my clients’ interest far before my own in all the recommendations I make. Learn more here.

Each client goes through a step by step financial planning process. Through the process I get to learn about their values and vision. I get to learn their story inside and out. We get to identify the opportunities and challenges in achieving the client’s financial goals.

I’ll take the information and put together a plan for turning your vision into reality. A dream becomes real when you put numbers to paper.

Clients will also get access to the latest account monitoring technology, which allows 24/7 access to all of their accounts, aggregated into one user-friendly platform – no more logging into several different online accounts to see the balances of all your investments.

I believe that my clients deserve the latest technologies, so I am constantly exploring and investing into new platforms.  Because of technology, we can be more proactive than the typical financial advisor with which most people are familiar.

Upon completion of our process, the client will receive a custom financial plan, as well as an investment strategy that is unique to them.

These plans are primarily built around life events, with retirement being the most common one. Other events include: wealth transfer, risk management, succession planning (for business owners), and asset protection.

Communication

I communicate regularly with clients via technology and the phone.  You can also keep track of me on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and most importantly, my blog. My experience is that it is very, very difficult for financial advisors and investment managers to actually perform their job if they are on the phone or in meetings all day, every day. Because of this, I block off 2 1/2 days per week to handle client meetings.

The rest of my days are spent doing research, financial planning and producing more valuable content that will benefit my clients. I visit with each client annually, and provide unlimited email support between meetings. Many of my clients are local to Wisconsin, but some are from all over the United States, and we work together virtually. To provide a great experience, I’ll use online conferencing (like Skype), phone, and email to regularly communicate.

If you’re the person that feels the need to be constantly on the phone with their advisor directly, then I probably am not going to be the best option for you. It has been my experience that phone conversations without a clear “plan of attack” often deviate from what my primary role is:  helping my clients achieve their goals. However, that is very different from having a scheduled phone appointment where we have a specific list of talking points that we need to address on that call.  Those calls are highly efficient, and are strongly encouraged.

How To Hire Me

If you’re interested in working with me I came up with a simple, yet powerful process to help you get moving in the right direction.

Here is a quick rundown of how it works.

Step 1: The Discovery Meeting

This is where we discuss your situation, financial goals and vision of the future. We’ll identify your key concerns and I’ll take note of the specific questions or concerns you have regarding your financial situation.

Step 2: The Initial Analysis

I’ll conduct an analysis of your financial situation and address not only the questions and concerns you have about achieving your goals, but address anything new found in the analysis. Portfolio, tax, social security and spending analysis is all a part of this process.

Step 3: Stress Testing

Working together, we will identify different possibly scenarios and “stress test” your current strategy against those scenarios to identify gaps and holes. This step is eye-opening to most.

Step 4: Recommendations and Proposal

We’ll take a look at the recommendations I have to make sure you are on the right path to achieving your goals. We’ll outline a proposal that is clear and transparent for how we can work together moving forward.

Step 5: Action and Monitoring Review

2-4 weeks after implementing the plan we schedule a follow up to address any questions and usually to talk about additional steps we need to take in implementing.

Financial Planning comes with a bona fide 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. Meaning, if you’re not satisfied, you pay nothing. It’s my commitment to you to make sure that you are on the way to turning your vision into reality.

For clients who want ongoing help managing their investments, the fee is a percentage of assets under management and is presented in the proposal in Step 4. Another thing to note is that we never take custody of client assets. A third-party custodian is used to hold accounts, execute trades and produce monthly statements. There will always be a record of account activity.

What I Do For Clients

Most importantly, I feel that clients and their advisors should get along and work as a team. Good financial planning and investment management doesn’t work overnight. It takes time, patience, and trust. I’ve done the best I can at structuring my work and services in a manner that gives clients personal attention and financial management support. I know there is always room for improvement, and I strive to get better at what I do each day. My uncompromising promise is to take the countless of hours of research and planning I do each year and leverage it to benefit those who place their trust with me and my firm.

Because technology is so awesome, I’m happy to work with investors all over the United States . Using web-based technology, we have the ability to meet clients in a very personal manner despite being hundreds or thousands of miles apart.
